Light Studies

New York

2025

In this photographic study, Juno Shen explored the relationship between her neon sculptures and shifting ambient light. Bringing her work into the intimate setting of photographer James Lowe’s apartment, the pair experimented with varied lighting conditions, capturing how each change in environment transformed the color, reflection, and emotional tone of the neon. The series became both a visual diary of light and a deeper exploration of how Shen’s sculptures inhabit space beyond the gallery.
